• Lois Mentrup has more than 18 years of experience in the technology arena, with 6 years as a wireless industry trade journalist and 12+ years in public relations, marketing & communications for Fortune 500 companies, start-ups and every size in between.
• She is experienced serving companies in broadband, mobile, telecom, embedded systems, IP communications and OSS, including Motorola, Cisco, Qpass (now Amdocs), Broadwing (now Level 3), Telica (now Alcatel-Lucent), Tellabs and UIEvolution.
• Lois is skilled at creating a wide range of communications materials, including press releases, bylined articles, case studies, white papers, newsletters, blogs, brochures, messaging materials as well as Web site and direct marketing copy.
• She has written and pitched technology-oriented press releases that appeal to broad audiences and thus received coverage in key national publications, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, BusinessWeek, and The New York Times, as well as in a variety of vertical trade publications.
• Lois has managed several of the largest accounts while at PR 21, a former division of Edelman, including three Motorola divisions with product and services ranging from integrated wireless phones and speech-based Internet services to smart card solutions.
• She has provided strategic counsel on public relations activities to a wide variety of PR 21 clients, including developing yearly and quarterly public relations plans, assisting with key message development and media training, developing message delivery strategy, and providing trade show support.
• She served as editor of a monthly 20,000 circulation wireless trade magazine, fully responsible for determining and executing its content.
• Lois also served as one of the original editors of the trade publication PCS News, which involved covering all aspects of the creation and launch of personal communications services or “PCS” mobile operators in the 1990s.
