A round of layoffs at the technology blog have resulted in job losses for contributing editors Dan Nosowitz, Chris Mascari and Sean Fallon. Sean continues to serve as the editor for the blogs Nerd Approved and Fashionably Geek.

Associate editor Daniel Dumas has been promoted to reviews editor at Wired.com. In this position, he will continue to cover gear and gadgets. There will be no replacement for the associate editor position.

Canon Communications LLC, a Los Angeles-based B2B publisher and event organizer, has acquired four media brands focused on the U.S. advanced design engineering sector, from Reed Business Information-US. The brands are: Electronic Design News (EDN), Design News, Test & Measurement World and Packaging Digest. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Editorial assistant Chris Harnick has left his post at Mobile Marketer and Mobile Commerce Daily. Rimma Kats has been brought in to replace him as editorial assistant. Her areas of coverage are content, gaming, media, television, music and social networks.

Cara Sievers will be leaving the organization on February 26, 2010. She works as associate editor for Phone+, Billing & OSS World, VON and xchange. Caras areas of coverage include distribution channels, conferencing, telecom security and VoIP. No replacement has been named at this time.

Senior Content Manager, Beth Nicholson has left her position at Telecom Engine. She had only been with the publication for five months. She is now an events manager at Quantros Inc., a software and services provider for the healthcare industry. Managing editor Anne Veigle has left the Warren Communications News-owned publication. She previously served as a senior editor for the publication. Prior to joining Communications Daily, Anne worked at Consumer Electronics Daily, FCC Report and Satellite Week. She is not expected to be replaced; assistant editor Adam Bender has taken on some of Annes responsibilities.

Contributing editor Laura Blackwell has been named downloads editor for PCWorld. She will continue to pen her column, Download This, which covers downloadable software. She also has served as an associate editor and editorial coordinator at the publication. Laura has been with PCWorld since 2001.

Blogger Marc Flores has joined the editorial staff to focus on mobile technology, including mobile phones, services and applications. Marc previously wrote for Boy Genius Report and True/Slant.
