Career Opportunity: Social Media Strategist

Calysto Communications, an established public relations & social marketing agency with a focus on telecommunications, broadcasting & wireless, is looking for social media consultants. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with telecom experience (preferred) or technical experience (required), who is looking for some flexibility in his or her schedule or has their own PR consultancy.

We are currently seeking contract/freelance Social Media Strategists. In association with our strategic, creative, and production consultants, this position will lead the development, execution, and assessment of innovative, results-oriented digital marketing campaigns that leverage online communities, social media and related Web 2.0 tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an agency leader and subject matter expert for issues associated with social media marketing. Regularly exhibit thought leadership on social media marketing and related topics inside and beyond the agency

• Lead research and creative brainstorming for social media marketing campaigns on behalf of clients and prospects

• Plan social media marketing campaigns, including requirements definition, scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets

• Manage campaigns in a hands-on, on-going fashion. Duties shall include online advocacy, rolling creation and execution of new concepts, copy/editorial, community-building efforts, promotions, etc.

• Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results

• Identify new business opportunities and play an active role in the agency’s new business acquisition team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience leveraging social media in a corporate, marketing or brand-building capacity

• 8-15 years experience in marketing or public relations

• Experience working in a team environment

• Wide-ranging familiarity with major social sites and services from a conceptual, marketing, technical, and feature-set perspective

• Deep personal engagement in social media and online communities of all types

• Strong editorial background and outstanding writing/journalistic skills

• Demonstrable ability to exhibit bona fide thought leadership in the realms of social media and interactive marketing

• Excellent research and presentation skills

• Creativity and energy
